A mission of Folk Horizons is to initiate folk oriented events that are eventually assumed by local groups or individuals. The Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival was started by Folk Horizons in 2000. In 2006, several individuals from the Portsmouth, New Hampshire community assumed management responsibility for the festival. We continue to provide assistance to the group as requested.
